Adrian Griffin fired; 5 Milwaukee Bucks head coach candidates
MILWAUKEE (BVM) – In a shocking move, the Milwaukee Bucks fired head coach Adrian Griffin after just 43 games at the helm. During his time as head coach, Griffin led the Bucks to a 30-13 record and the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Assistant Joe Prunty will take over as the interim head coach, the second time in his career he’s held that position for Milwaukee, last doing so after the team fired head coach Jason Kidd in 2018.

While the team has played well on the court, there have been several off-the-court issues that may have attributed to Griffin’s firing including the resignation of former assistant coach Terry Stotts and Bobby Portis challenging the coach earlier in the year. Tuesday reports also alleged Bucks veterans, including star Giannis Antetokounmpo, lost faith in the coach.
There have been steady rumblings for weeks in NBA circles that several Bucks veterans, including Giannis, had lost faith in Griffin. What appeared to be smart hire last spring just never worked out.
