Providence shuts out UConn in dominating 5-0 victory, UConn falls to 6th in Hockey East

Story Links STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's hockey dropped their second-straight game against a ranked opponent, losing in game one of a home and home series against no.10 Providence. The Huskies faced adversity early in the first period as sophomore Samu Salminen was issued a 5-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for contact to the head. While skating with a man advantage, Providence was able to net two goals, to take the 2-0 lead heading into the period break.
