Alex Georgiev has played fairly well in his second year in Denver. The problem is what the Avalanche have behind him. Justus Annunen has played in two games and he may not be ready for what will be asked of him. There is no reason to be concerned about the 23-year-old’s long-term future, but Colorado needs a more reliable option as they look to strengthen its seeding heading into the postseason. Fleury would be an excellent addition and perhaps the Avalanche would look for him to start some games in the playoffs depending on Georgiev’s performances.
