Danny Wolf transferring: 5 landing spots for 7-foot center
Illinois
A Glencoe, Illinois native, Wolf may be interested in joining one of his home state’s top teams. The Illini are coming off of an Elite Eight appearance, however, they are potentially set to lose five of their top six scorers to either graduation, the NBA draft, or the transfer portal. With center Dain Dainja announcing his entrance into the portal on Monday, the Illini are in clear need of a big man as Coleman Hawkins is set to test NBA waters. While Illinois does have freshman Amani Hansberry and big Morez Johnson Jr. coming in, head coach Brad Underwood may be interested in adding some experience down low.
Wolf would not only provide a big body capable of blocking shots and crashing the boards but also a player similar to Hawkins who can shoot from beyond the 3-point line and defend out to the perimeter. While the Illini roster will look completely different next season, Wolf would have an easy opportunity for playing time while joining a successful Big Ten program in his home state fresh off of one of its best seasons in recent memory.
