Atlanta Braves ace pitcher and former Clemson standout Spencer Strider is officially out for the season. The right-hander, who made 10 starts for Clemson between 2018-2020, underwent surgery on Friday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow, the Braves announced Saturday. It’s the second major reconstructive elbow surgery Strider has undergone in the past five-plus years. A season ago, the 25-year-old pitcher led Major League Baseball with 20 wins and 281 strikeouts.
