5 standouts from Alabama’s 2024 spring football game

Jalen Milroe will likely be the starter to begin the season for the Crimson Tide and he could also be labeled a standout from the game on Saturday despite a low completion rate. However, Simpson continues to show flashes of a former five-star recruit when on the field. Simpson has thrown for just 179 yards across 25 attempts in minimal action over the last two seasons, adding a pair of rushing scores in 2023. On Saturday, the former Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year continued to prove his upside even despite some missed throws, as he went 7-for-12 for 102 yards, with his longest completion going for 34 yards. Despite the potential opportunity to transfer, Simpson has stuck things out and the 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback could ultimately play his way into seeing action at some point this year.
