Jamir Watkins transferring: 5 possible landing spots
Virginia Tech Hokies
Transferring to Virginia Tech could be in play for Watkins, especially considering he spent the first two years of his collegiate career playing in the Old Dominion. He would also reunite with a familiar face in Blacksburg as former VCU assistant J.D. Byers is currently on Mike Young’s staff. Virginia Tech has most of its pieces in place for next season, but there still could be room for another addition or two as the Hokies have lost their top five leading scorers from this past season including Sean Pedulla, Hunter Cattoor, Lynn Kidd, Tyler Nickel and MJ Collins. Young has masked that with four transfer additions thus far including wings Ben Burnham and Rodney Brown. Still, adding a talent like Watkins who excels at both ends of the floor would be invaluable for a program looking to make it back to the NCAA Tournament.
