What a 2024 U.S. Open win would mean for top betting favorites

PINEHURST, N.C. (BVM) – The 124th edition of the U.S. Open will tee off later this week on the No. 2 course at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. It will be the fourth time the U.S. Open has been held at the course as Payne Stewart won at Pinehurst No. 2 in 1999, Michael Campbell did so in 2005 and Martin Kaymer took home a title in 2014. Pinehurst is also slated to hold the event again in 2029, 2035, 2041 and 2047 as one of the U.S. Open’s new anchor sites.

The 2024 U.S. Open has a chance to be a thrilling tournament as 156 players will tee it up in the season’s third major. That group will include a couple of the game’s legends, a multitude of past U.S. Open champions and many of the brightest stars in professional golf right now.

While there could be a surprise winner like Wyndham Clark last year at Los Angeles Country Club, it’s hard to bet against some of the top players in the world taking home a trophy this weekend, and plenty is at stake for each of them as the tournament gets going.

Here’s a look at what a win at the 2024 U.S. Open would mean for the season, career and legacy of each of the top 10 betting favorites.
