(BVM) – Martin Truex Jr. has been one of NASCAR’s most popular and successful drivers throughout the last several years, but recently, the driver of the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota announced that the 2024 NASCAR season will be his last, as he will retire following the year’s final race at Phoenix in November.

Following back-to-back Busch Series championships, Truex Jr. became a full-time Cup Series driver in 2006, beginning his career driving with Dale Earnhardt Inc. His first career victory came a year later in 2007, one of 34 Cup Series wins for Truex Jr. while also racing for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing, Furniture Row Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing.
The 43-year-old won his first and only Cup Series championship in 2017 and came very close to grabbing a second title in recent years, reaching the Championship 4 multiple times while finishing as the regular-season points champion in 2023.
