5 rookies who are fantasy football breakout candidates for 2024
Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears
Williams is one of the more highly-touted quarterback prospects in recent memory, and while the Bears haven’t been a franchise where quarterbacks have historically flourished, he is set up for success in year one in the Windy City. The USC product will have a tremendous supporting cast featuring returning No. 1 receiver D.J. Moore, emerging tight end Cole Kmet, free agent acquisition Keenan Allen and first-round draft pick Rome Odunze, who also could be in line for a strong rookie year. General manager Ryan Poles also added running back D’Andre Swift in free agency, giving Chicago as much talent as it has had offensively in a while. There could be some growing pains, but Williams seems capable of putting up at least back-end QB1 numbers in what should be a vastly improved offense.
