5 drivers who could replace Corey LaJoie at Spire Motorsports
Ryan Preece
Preece was one of several drivers left without a ride as Stewart-Haas Racing announced it was ending its operations in the Cup Series at the end of the 2024 season and he remains the lone SHR driver whose future is still up in the air. The 33-year-old from Connecticut began driving full-time in the Cup Series in 2019 with JTG Daugherty Racing. He became a reserve driver for Stewart-Haas in 2022 before earning a full-time ride in 2023. Preece remains winless in the Cup Series but has 13 top-10s and has shown some potential through the years. He could be an intriguing option for the No. 7 Chevrolet and may excel in a more stable situation at Spire.
