Two Texas Longhorn football stars score Lamborghini NIL deal

AUSTIN, Texas (BVM) – Texas Longhorns football players Isaiah Bond and Michael Taaffe have been selected as Lamborghini Austin’s promotional partners for the 2024 season.

The details of their luxury car NIL deal haven’t been disclosed, including if they drove the Lamborghinis off the lot and the duration of their contracts. For context, in 2022, Bijan Robinson secured a year-long promotional partnership with Lamborghini Austin and drove a bright orange Lamborghini straight off the lot

In the promotional video for the Austin dealership (shown below), Bond and Taaffe are seen coming out of what appears to be a white Lamborghini Urus (~$250,000) and a green Lamborghini Revuelto (~$600,000).

Bond and Taaffe were selected by Lamborghini Austin because of their “strong academic achievements, community leadership and success on the field.”

In 2023, Bond amassed 48 catches for 668 yards and four touchdowns for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Off the field, he made the Dean’s List, SEC Honor Roll and was a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success.

Taaffe’s journey from walk-on to scholarship athlete to Lambo driver is particularly impressive. In 2023, he totaled 48 tackles (28 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, two pass breakups and one blocked punt with the Longhorns. Off the field, he was an All-Big 12 honorable mention and Burlsworth Trophy nominee.

Taaffe and Bond are entering the 2024 football season with arguably the flashiest deal on UT’s campus. Through this, they are proving that defensive backs and wide receivers can also secure massive name, image and likeness deals.
