Oklahoma State WR topped 22.3 mph as fastest ball carrier
(BVM) – Oklahoma State wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling is making a big comeback from injury, and clearly, the road to recovery didn’t slow him down.
Stribling topped 22.3 mph on a 77-yard flea flicker touchdown against Kansas State on Saturday. This is the fastest top speed by a ball carrier for the 2024 college football season, according to leading sports technology and data company Reel Analytics.

He appears to be the fastest ball carrier in college football based on top speed. Trailing behind him are Clemson’s Bryant Wesco Jr. (21.9 mph) and Penn State’s Nick Singleton (21.8 mph).
Stribling’s 22.3 mph top speed is also faster than any NFL player through Week 4 of the 2024 season.
Data compiled by Next Generation Stats shows that the fastest speed recorded by an NFL ball carrier this season tops at 21.89 mph, which Houston Texans WR Nico Collins recorded in Week 1 on a 55-yard reception. Notably, Tyreek Hill’s fastest top speed so far in 2024 is 20.27 mph.
Overall, Stribling’s exceptional speed has launched him onto the FBS leaderboards. With 502 yards and three touchdowns on 27 receptions, he currently ranks in the top 10 nationally for total receiving yards.
