Teams expected ‘to call’ on Amari Cooper: 5 landing spots

CLEVELAND (BVM) – Trade rumors have swirled around Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper recently, particularly with Cleveland struggling early in the 2024 NFL season. This past weekend, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that while he doesn’t think the Browns will shop Cooper, he does expect teams “to at least call on” his availability, particularly those that might strike out on acquiring Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams.

Senior NFL insider Adam Schefter also speculated that the Browns could deal Cooper in a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” saying he thinks Cleveland “will look to move players,” including Cooper if the team continues to struggle.

Cooper responded to the trade rumors over the weekend as well, saying he hasn’t paid attention to them during his third season in Cleveland.

The 30-year-old wideout is in his 11th NFL season overall, making five Pro Bowl appearances with the Raiders, Cowboys, and most recently last season with the Browns. However, Cooper is off to a slow start in 2024, in part due to poor play from quarterback Deshaun Watson, catching just 20 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns across five games for the 1-4 Browns.

With Cleveland continuing to fall in the standings and Cooper in the final year of his contract, the Browns could certainly entertain the idea of trading their star wideout. Here are five landing spots if the Browns look to deal Cooper.
