Kats fall to Kansas
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Sam Houston women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 66-51 to Kansas at Phog Allen Fieldhouse on Monday. The Bearkat (2-1) defense held the Jayhawks (2-0) close in the first quarter, keeping them within an eight-point margin. Sam Houston defense forced turnovers that lead to eight points and held Kansas to 36 percent shooting. In the third quarter, the Bearkats scored 21 points—nearly doubling their first-half total—to stay in contention.
