Teoscar Hernandez’s free agency: 5 possible landing spots

LOS ANGELES (BVM) – Teoscar Hernandez is a free agent for the second time in as many years and will be one of the top outfielders available this offseason.

After beginning his MLB career with the Houston Astros, Hernandez quickly emerged as a valuable power hitter across six seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, highlighted by his first All-Star campaign in 2021 where he had 32 home runs and 116 RBIs.

Hernandez was dealt to the Seattle Mariners ahead of the 2023 season and had another strong campaign that helped him land a one-year, $23.5 million deal last offseason with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 32-year-old outfielder played a vital role in Los Angeles’ World Series run, hitting .272 overall with a career-high 33 home runs, 99 RBIs and a .840 OPS.

Hernandez made his second All-Star appearance as well this past season and won the 2024 Home Run Derby. While the Dodgers will be a suitor as they attempt to keep most of their championship core in place, Hernandez’s proven consistency and power numbers will likely make him a target for several teams in free agency.

Here are five possible landing spots for Hernandez this offseason.
