Teoscar Hernandez’s free agency: 5 possible landing spots
Kansas City Royals
The Royals aren’t a big-market organization like some on this list but could be a darkhorse contender to sign Hernandez. Kansas City could ultimately be one of the best fits for the veteran outfielder as a club that doesn’t seem far off from truly contending for a World Series. The Royals struggled a bit down the stretch in 2024 but went 86-76 and made a surprise playoff appearance. That was thanks in large part to Bobby Witt Jr. who is quickly emerging as a superstar, while veterans like Salvador Perez and Vinnie Pasquantino will also remain important bats going forward. However, adding another power hitter to the middle of the lineup would be beneficial for a team that ranked just 20th in the big leagues in home runs this past season. Hernandez would also provide a big overall upgrade on the Royals’ current corner outfielders.
