Devon Dampier transferring: 5 possible landing spots

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (BVM) – New Mexico quarterback Devon Dampier has entered the transfer portal after a breakout season. The first-team All-Mountain West selection is one of the top signal callers available and has two years of remaining eligibility.

Dampier played prep football at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona where he developed into a three-star recruit in the Class of 2023 according to 247Sports. He played sparingly in his first season in Albuquerque and took over the starting role under center in 2024, throwing for 2,768 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushing for 1,166 yards and 19 scores.

Dampier was the only FBS player to exceed 2,500 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards this past season and became just the fifth player to reach those numbers since 2016, joining Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels.

With many schools expected to show interest, here are five programs that could land the talented quarterback.
