Murphy, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022 out of Junipero Serra High School in California, began his collegiate career with the Texas Longhorns and saw limited action in relief of Quinn Ewers in Austin as part of a crowded quarterback room that also featured Arch Manning.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound signal caller transferred to Duke last offseason and had a breakout campaign in Durham, throwing for 2,933 yards and 26 touchdowns while completing 59.8% of his passes. The Blue Devils went 9-3 during the 2024 regular season, finishing 4th in the ACC while earning a spot in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Jan. 2 against Ole Miss.
While Murphy isn’t a dual-threat quarterback like a lot of signal callers in today’s game, his special arm talent still makes him one of the most intriguing quarterback prospects in the country. That should lead to several interested suitors in the portal as Murphy will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop. Here are five landing spots for the Duke QB.
