Padres ‘exploring’ Dylan Cease trade: 5 landing spots
SAN DIEGO (BVM) – The San Diego Padres are looking to cut payroll for the 2025 season and starting pitcher Dylan Cease could be on the move. Padres beat writer Kevin Acee reported that the franchise is “exploring” a trade that includes the righthander.
Cease collected 224 strikeouts in 2024, the third-most in MLB, and posted a 3.47 ERA in a league-high 33 starts to earn a fourth-place finish in the NL Cy Young race. He is entering his last season of arbitration eligibility and is one of the top pitchers available on the trade market. Here are five organizations that could seek Cease’s services if he is dealt.
