LOS ANGELES (BVM) — USC’s attack took a big hit Tuesday as Zachariah Branch, the No. 1 wide receiver in 247 Sports’ Class of 2023, decided to enter the transfer portal.
Branch, a Bishop Gorman product, was the Trojans’ first-ever true freshman first-team All-American, making three different teams as a returner. Over two seasons at USC, he caught 78 passes for 823 yards and three scores.

Blair Angulo, a 247 Sports recruiting analyst, compared Branch’s skill set to Tyreek Hill’s while studying the former five-star prospect on the prep level. Whoever gets Branch will have a potential game-breaker. Worth mentioning, Branch’s older brother, Zion, entered the portal with him and the two will relocate to the same spot.
