Teams calling about Seth Jones: 5 possible landing spots
CHICAGO (BVM) – Seth Jones has had an up-and-down tenure with the Chicago Blackhawks. He was an All-Star in his second season with the franchise, but has become an unpopular player in Chicago over the past couple of years.
Jones will make $9.5 million annually for the next five seasons, but that has not made him a negative asset according to recent reports. TSN’s Darren Dreger reported on Insider Trading the Blackhawks are not shopping the 30-year-old defenseman, but they are receiving calls from other teams about his availability.
The five-time All-Star will have one of the most interesting markets before the trade deadline, as a trade could be complex to work out with his hefty contract. These teams could be the most aggressive in pursuing Jones despite his financial commitment.
