Notre Dame quarterback options for 2025 college football season
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (BVM) – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had a special 2024 season, winning 14 games while reaching the national championship.
The Irish were led by several talented players on both sides of the ball, but one of their biggest stars was quarterback Riley Leonard who threw for over 2,800 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 906 yards and 17 additional scores.
Leonard transferred to South Bend last offseason from Duke, following the same path as 2023 Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman who spent one year with the Fighting Irish after beginning his collegiate career at Wake Forest. However, with Leonard out of eligibility, Notre Dame will turn to a new starting quarterback in 2025.
Last month, head coach Marcus Freeman stated that he doesn’t plan on using the transfer portal to find a quarterback for a third consecutive year. Instead, the Fighting Irish will look in-house for their 2025 signal caller and have several intriguing prospects waiting in the wings.
Here are Notre Dame’s top quarterback options for the 2025 college football season.
