Stemper throws perfect game for Caledonia junior high baseball

On Tuesday, April 22, the Caledonia junior high baseball team traveled to Chatfield to take on the Gophers — and made history. Pitcher Oliver Stemper achieved the rare feat of a perfect game, striking out 14 batters in five innings. Stemper was dominant from the start. The only out not recorded by strikeout came in the first inning, when Josiah Schroeder caught a fly ball in right field to end the frame. From there, Stemper struck out every remaining batter he faced, finishing with 14 strikeouts and a perfect stat line: 5 innings pitched, no hits, no walks, no runs...
