Murphy’s Hunter plays hero in win over Massac County

MURPHYSBORO — Senior Austin Hunter put Murphysboro one step closer to winning an outright Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Ohio Division baseball championship with a walkoff homer against Massac County Tuesday. The dramatic long ball in the eighth inning broke a 2-2 tie after both teams scored one run each in the seventh inning to send the contest into extra innings.
