PREP BASEBALL: Venice falls; Game 3 Saturday at Alonso

VENICE — The underdogs got the better of the favorites on Thursday evening at Venice High, with Alonso forcing a decisive Game 3 in the Region 7A-2 championship series. Up 2-0 heading into the sixth, Venice and its pitching staff allowed five runs on five hits during the top half of the inning. From there, Alonso reliever Marcelo Diaz Villalon slammed the door to secure the 5-2 win at Venice High.
