SWE survives in 9 innings, advances to fourth round of 2A playoffs

SouthWest Edgecombe’s baseball team is doing whatever it has to do in order to survive in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Class 2A playoffs. The Cougars built a 3-0 lead after five innings, survived a tying three-run rally by Seaforth in the bottom of the sixth and then collected the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning to defeat the Hawks 4-3 in the third round on Tuesday night in Pittsboro.
