Chotiner Walk-Off Advances RPI to Six O’Clock Consolation Game
BALTIMORE, MD – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team walked-off Farmingdale State in the bottom of the ninth in the first game of today’s consolation bracket in the NCAA DIII Baseball Championship. Matt Chotiner notched the game-winning hit for the Engineers, as he sliced a single to left field to plate Jon Primerano to give RPI the 4-3 victory. Primerano had been hit by a pitch to start the final inning rally. Ian Oehlschlaeger was plunked in the next at-bat, allowing Ayush Krishnappa’s sacrifice bunt to put runners on the corners.
