RPI Blanks Rutgers-Camden 10-0 to Advance to Regional Final
BALTIMORE – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team shut out Rutgers-Camden 10-0 to advance to the regional final tomorrow against weekend host Johns Hopkins. After a pitchers dual in the first four innings, the Engineers put crooked numbers on the scoreboard in each of the fifth, sixth, and eighth innings. RPI starter Mike Nelson carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the fifth, as the right-hander eventually surrendered just three hits in seven innings of work.
