Women’s Hoops Falls in Season-Opener

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — The Rockford University women’s basketball team lost to non-conference opponent, Cornell College, 56-34 on Wednesday in its season-opener. Katie Paredes had a double-double for the Regents with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Nia Wilkerson also totaled 11 points, and Te Simpson added 14 rebounds to go along with six points. RU got off to a slow start, surrendering a 13-1 lead to start the game, and trailed 38-13 at halftime.
