Conn to build new grandstand, press box at Silfen Field honoring Fran Shields P’14

NEW LONDON, Conn. — Connecticut College has begun work on the Fran Shields Grandstand at Silfen Track and Field, with construction expected to be completed in June 2026. The 500-seat grandstand and press box are made possible by a generous gift from Timothy M. Armstrong ’93 and Nancy A. Armstrong and the Men’s Lacrosse Program in honor of Fran Shields P’14, longtime men’s lacrosse coach and athletics director emeritus.
