Abreu’s Gem Pushes Wildcats Past Panthers in SWAC Opener
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Harbersting Abreu delivered a dominant outing on the mound Friday night, striking out seven over seven shutout innings to lead Bethune-Cookman to a 6-1 win over Prairie View A&M in the SWAC opener at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Bethune-Cookman (12-6, 1-0) took the lead in the first inning. Erick Almonte drew a walk, moved into scoring position on a stolen base and throwing error, and later came home on a sacrifice fly by Jeter Polledo to give the Wildcats a 1-0 advantage.
