Byrd Listed as Buck Buchanan Award Preseason Watch List Honoree

Richmond, Va. – University of Richmond defensive end and team captain Camden Byrd has been named to the Buck Buchanan Award Preseason Watch List, Stats Perform FCS announced Tuesday. The Buck Buchanan Award, presented annually to the most outstanding defensive player in NCAA Division I FCS, is named in honor of legendary defensive lineman Junious “Buck” Buchanan, who starred at Grambling State before embarking on a Pro Football Hall of Fame career. Byrd, who was named a Stats Perform FCS Second Team Preseason All-American on Monday, enters the 2026 season having appeared in 38 career games for the Spiders. A…
