The 2022 All-River States Conference (RSC) Baseball Teams and Awards were announced Thursday night, May 5 at the RSC Baseball Championship in Chillcothe, Ohio. Individual award winners, along with the All-RSC First Team and Second Team honorees, were announced at Indiana University Kokomo’s Student Activities and Events Center on Thursday night following the conclusion of the opening day of action in the River States Conference (RSC) Softball Championship.

This summer, local students interested in taking their basketball skills to the next level can participate in WVU Tech’s Golden Bear basketball camps. The camps will be in Van Meter Gymnasium at 350 South Kanawha Street in Beckley on the WVU Tech campus. The first camp will be June 6-9, 2022 and the second August 1-4, 2022.

Last week, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the full slate of 2021-2022 Scholar All-America Team and Individual honorees for the NAIA Men’s division with awards going to 99 individuals representing 35 institutions. Isaiha Casto of WVU Tech has earned individual NWCA Scholar All-American honors.

WVU Tech hosted the two-day Golden Bear Classic on the Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs Monday-Tuesday. The Golden Bears finished fifth out of 12 teams after 36 holes.

WVU Tech softball earned the 1-0 shutout over River States Conference (RSC) opponent Carlow University before falling 3-4 Wednesday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 22-21, 7-11 (RSC) while the Celtics move to 5-26-1, 2-15 (RSC).

WVU Tech baseball earned a 15-2 non-conference win at Bluefield University Wednesday. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 9-33 while the Rams move to 23-14.

Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for February 21-27, 2022 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Seniors Whittney Justice and Juvante’ Hayes of basketball highlight that week’s honors.

WVU Tech baseball hosted Indiana University Kokomo in a three-game River States Conference (RSC) series at Bowen Field in Bluefield Sunday-Monday. The Golden Bears earned 8-6 and 2-0 victories before falling 14-3 in the final contest.
