Oregon lands top-rated tackle in West region

OREM, Utah (BVM) – Oregon and head coach Mario Cristobal have made a habit of luring elite offensive line prospects to Eugene in recent years, but the Ducks might’ve got their biggest haul on Tuesday night.

Kingsley Suamataia, a four-star offensive tackle and the top-rated offensive line prospect in the West region, revealed his college decision during a ceremony at Orem High School. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound tackle chose the Ducks over more than 30 other scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Wisconsin and others.

Lauded for his mobility and athleticism, Suamataia has already collected his share of accolades, helping capture a state championship in each of his first three seasons at Orem and being selected for both the All-American Bowl and Polynesian Bowl rosters. Suamataia is the nation’s No. 10-rated offensive tackle and the No. 59 overall prospect in the Class of 2021, making him the highest-rated offensive line commit in program history.

The Orem standout’s commitment propelled the Ducks’ 2021 class into the No. 3 spot of 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings. Oregon will repeat as the top recruiting class in the Pac-12 for the third consecutive season, and their recent pledge places them behind only Alabama and Ohio State.

The Ducks’ 2021 offensive lineman class is loaded, also featuring four-star offensive tackle Bram Walden, four-star offensive guard Jonah Miller and three-star center Jackson Light.

The plan moving forward, according to the family, is for Suamataia to sign in December and then enroll in college early.
