The Chillicothe Girls Softball League welcomes all girls up to 14 years of age. There are 5 divisions; T-ball, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U. All games are played in the Chillicothe Park Annex by the Scioto River. This year’s champions are 8U Vipers coached by Ryan Hosler, 10U Rec Mojo coached by Drew Zickafoose, 10U Comp Mojo coached by Todd Robinson, and 12U Raptors coached by Byron Wickham. While the league will not have a fall season, they are planning several tournaments this fall. They will also be making more improvements to the fields as they look forward to next season.

The Scioto Valley Youth League is a school-based girls softball league for all girls ages 6-12. They have 3 divisions; 8U, 10U, and 12U. The season runs from April to June. Games are played at Mary Lou Patton Park in Chillicothe, Ohio. The champions for this season are 8U Zane Trace – Coach Burkitt, 10U Unioto – Coach Williams, and 12U Zane Trace – Coach Webb. The SVYL Softball League will have a season this fall lasting 6 weeks. This is open to anyone in the area including girls who might not be on a team during the regular season. It is a great opportunity to learn the game and prepare for the regular season.

Both leagues are always looking for more girls and volunteers. To learn more about signing up an athlete or volunteer opportunities, either league would love to hear from you. You can learn more about each league on Facebook.
