Celebrating Normal’s IESA Scholar Attitude Award winner, Giana Rawlings
NORMAL, Ill. — Congratulations to local NCHS athlete, Giana Rawlings, last year’s IESA Scholar Attitude Award Winner! The Illinois Elementary School Association’s award goes to 8th graders in regions across the state to recognize “today’s dreamers and tomorrow’s leaders” through academic success, IESA activity participation, and community involvement. A recognition ceremony was suppose to take place, however was cancelled due to COVID19. We are excited to celebrate and recognize Giana’s achievements here.
Earlier this year, Giana was also nominated as Best Buddy Champion. Best Buddies is a national nonprofit that connects people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to friendships, jobs, living arrangements, and leadership opportunities. Giana’s All-Stars team raised money to support Best Buddies programming and promote diversity & inclusion in our community.
Giana has played basketball for nine years and just in the last three began playing volleyball as well.
