Clemson women’s soccer takes on Georgia Bulldogs

CLEMSON, S.C. (BVM) – The Clemson women’s soccer team was able to keep their undefeated home streak alive yesterday as they defeated the University of Georgia. The Bulldogs scored the first goal within the first five minutes of play; however, the Tigers responded with a goal themselves just two minutes later scored by Caroline Conti, her seventh goal of the year and assisted by No. 21 Maliah Morris. The next Clemson goal was scored during the 16th minute of play by Maliah Morris, her fourth of the year, which was assisted by No. 38 Jackson Moehler. Near the end of the half, UGA had a clear opportunity for a shot but goalie Hensley Hancuff made a great save to close the first half score 2-1 Clemson.

In the 72nd minute of play Maliah Morris scored her second goal of the game and was assisted by No. 29 Sami Meredith. Morris started in all ten games and amounted 613 points on the field during the fall season. Their 10th win of the season, the Tigers secured a 3-1 victory. This win gave head coach Eddie Radwanski his seventh consecutive year at the ten-win threshold and his 16th total across 20 years of collegiate coaching.

“We knew Georgia would come in and give us a great battle,” Radwanski said. “It was a great response to a slow start on our part and I really thought we managed the game quite well.”

The Tigers will face the Alabama Crimson Tide for their last home game April 3rd at 1 p.m.
