High hopes for Satellite HS boys and girls track and field after conference meet
SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. — The boys and girls track teams continue to roll on heading on to the Region meet at SHS on May 1st to qualify for State later in May!
As of March 25th, Joe Wester lowered his school record in the 800 to 1:53, and the boys 4 x 800 lowered the school and county record to 7:44 which is the 9th fastest all-time for a Florida team. Julie Lavrador and Katie Hibbard continue to lead the distance girls with a 5:16 and 5:22 respectively in the 1600. Chiara Prospero and Dorit Goldstein lead the vaulters with top 10 state performances as does Izabelle Hays in the girls High Jump. Jonah Montanez and Gabe Betts lead the throwers with top 10 state performances and all are eying the Region and State meets scheduled to take place in May. Go Scorps!
