Todd taking over the Tigers

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (BVM) — When King’s Ridge Christian School takes to the softball diamond this coming fall, it’ll have a new face behind the whole operation. The school announced that it has hired Tim Todd as the head coach for the 2021-22 season, relieving athletic director Crissy Watkins of her dual-role tasks.

Todd has a familiar name in the softball circles of Alpharetta and Milton as he has been coaching for two decades. Not only has he had his hand in the coaching realm, but Todd has also held leadership positions within multiple different softball associations.

The new Tigers head coach was the commissioner of the Alpharetta Youth Softball Association, and he’s even founded a couple of different softball programs within the area. Todd started the Cambridge feeder program and the travel softball team, the Georgia Fire.

The Fire caught fire, becoming a nationally recognized fastpitch team playing in exposure tournaments across the southeast and helping develop collegiate-level talent. They now field seven A-level teams from the 10u to 18u age range.

Todd will be taking over a Tigers program that was 4-2 in last year’s COVID-19 riddled season. The idea of his hire is that former head coach and current athletic director, Crissy Watkins, can focus on her tasks as an AD while Todd can devote his time to the softball program, giving them a better chance at excellence.
