Benedictine College Prep baseball coach Ryan gets coaching win No. 300
RICHMOND, Va. (BVM) — Benedictine College Preparatory School baseball coach Sean Ryan has been as successful as they come in his nearly 20-year coaching career. Starting at Maggie Walker Governor’s School in 2002, Ryan has been a steady force in the Virginia baseball circuit and since taking over the Cadets team in 2004, he’s made the program one of the best in the state. That’s why it came as no surprise that Ryan would earn yet another milestone in his impressive legacy.
On April 3, the Cadets won a doubleheader against Archbishop Spalding 3-2 and 4-2, respectively. With the victories, the skipper earned win No. 300 in his illustrious career.
Over the past decade and a half, Ryan has led the Cadets to numerous victories and successes along the way. From 2004-19, the Cadets played in 14 state quarterfinals, seven state semifinals and five state finals, winning titles in 2010, 2017 and 2019, respectively.
For Benedictine, the wins came at an opportune time for their season as well. After dropping three straight games to start the 2021 campaign, the team was able to reel off four straight victories thanks to the sweep. With their record above .500 for the first time on the year, the Cadets will look to make a run to continue their postseason success.
With Ryan once again in the dugout for Benedictine, the likelihood is that the Cadets will be nothing but successful this season. Though he may have 300 wins now, Ryan is certainly destined for more.
