Eddie Hill continues his racing career

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (BVM) — Nothing is getting in the way of legendary National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) racer Eddie Hill. The 85-year-old racer from Wichita Falls claimed two more victories two weeks ago.

During that weekend, he won two races in the first round of the Competition Motorsports Association (COMMA) at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit near Tulsa.

Hill qualified in both second on Saturday and won that first race. On Sunday, he qualified first and led the whole way after that.

Hill is the point leading in the open-wheel class, which is the fastest class that the COMMA has to offer. Right now, Hill is the oldest driver in this class. His wife, Ercie, is currently serving as his crew chief.

During his storied career, Hill won 13 total races. Hill also won 12 national titles in NHRA Top Fuel events. Also, in 2001, he was ranked 14th on the NHRA’s Top 50 drivers list. He has been inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and the Texas Motor Sports Hall of Fame.

Whether or not his career wraps up this year or in the fire, it has been an outstanding career for Hill.
