Syracuse adding Jimmy Boeheim through transfer portal
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (BVM) — Jimmy Boeheim announced on Twitter that he will be transferring to Syracuse University to become the third Boeheim with the Orange. The eldest Boeheim will join his father, Jim, and younger brother, Buddy, for the upcoming season.
With the Ivy League canceling its basketball season this year due to Covid-19, Jimmy was without a senior season. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 16.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in his junior season at Cornell.

Jimmy and Buddy have played against each other three times in the past and will look to team up this year, with higher expectations after the Orange’s NCAA tournament run. After coming up with upset victories in the first and second rounds, led by the efforts of his youngest brother, Syracuse was taken down in the Sweet 16 by a red-hot Houston team.
With a returning roster that should return familiar guards, Jimmy will likely compete for the starting forward spot left open after this past season.
