Zach Wilson’s brother, Micah, will carry on BYU family tradition

DRAPER, Utah (BVM) – Zach Wilson is projected to become the highest draft selection in BYU history during next week’s NFL Draft, and his younger brother just committed to keep the family tradition going in Provo.

Corner Canyon High School linebacker Micah Wilson announced his commitment to BYU on Tuesday and will become the third member of his family to suit up for the Cougars. His brother, Josh, played his first season at linebacker for BYU in 2020.

“Family is everything to me,” Micah said on Twitter. “Staying close to home, playing with my brother and having the opportunity to work with amazing coaches makes BYU the perfect fit for me.”

Micah is a three-star recruit and Utah’s No. 23-ranked prospect in the Class of 2022 by 247Sports. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound inside linebacker accounted for 133 tackles and a half sack last season, helping the Chargers win their third consecutive state championship.

Each of BYU’s six commits for the 2022 class, including Micah, hail from Utah: American Fork High School outside linebacker Noah Moeaki, Weber High School athlete Cannon DeVries, Wasatch High School athlete Jarinn Kalama, West High School outside linebacker Liutai Kinikini and Alta High School safety Maika Kaufusi.
