Plano West Wolves tennis dominates district tournament
PLANO, Texas (BVM) — There are plenty of spring sports in action this year and tennis is one of them.
One of those teams are the Plano West Wolves. On April 16, Plano West took the court in its district’s annual spring tournament. The Wolves were aiming to sweep the tournament as they did in the District 6-6A tournament last fall.
In this tournament, held near Marcus High School, the Wolves finished first overall in four out of five events. Those events were girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles and mixed doubles.
Throughout the girls doubles event, the team didn’t drop a single game. And in the girls single bracket, the Wolves dropped only two games.
District tennis titles for Plano West include:
Girls singles: Natasha Opaciuch
Girls doubles: Janet Pham, Estefania Hernandez
Boys doubles: Kishan Kersten, Ethan Scribner
Mixed doubles: Utham Koduri, Summer Shannon https://t.co/fYLm3f8zUH— Matt Welch (@MWelchSLM) April 14, 2021
