Westborough volleyball continues undefeated season
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (BVM) — In a game of unbeatens, Westborough volleyball made sure to come out on the winning end. The high-profile matchup of Westborough and Algonquin didn’t disappoint as the Rangers continued their winning ways in a close 3-2 game.
After starting their season 10-0, the Rangers’ perfect record hung in balance until the final serve made by junior Christine Li. With a 14-13 lead in the final set, Li came up with the game–winning ace in the team’s five–set victory. Li got some help along the way with freshman Quinn Anderson picking up a team–high 16 kills and senior Ella Hilfinger recording 9 kills.
The effort from Westborough clinches the Central Mass. Pod 4 title. The perfect 11-0 season comes off Westborough’s 16-6 season in 2019, where the Rangers were taken down in the playoffs by Canton High School.
With the volleyball season up in the air heading into the year, the Rangers are happy to leave their stamp on the 2021 season.
