Lone Peak’s offense explodes in series-clinching win
HIGHLAND, Utah (BVM) – Lone Peak’s offense produced a total of 11 runs in its previous three games heading into Friday’s rubber match with Skyridge. The Knights outdid that total in just two innings of work in a 15-7 win over the Falcons.
After tying up the series on Thursday, Skyridge jumped out to a 1-0 lead looking to earn its second win over Lone Peak in as many days. The Knights’ bats came alive in the third inning, however, scoring seven runs and breaking the game wide open.
The seven-run inning was highlighted by left-handed batter Crew McChesney’s three-run home run shot that brought teammates Chris Billings and Parker DeYoung in for scores.

Skyridge trotted out six different pitchers on the day in an attempt to find an answer for Lone Peak’s offensive onslaught. It continued in the fifth inning when the Knights added six more runs thanks in part to a solo home run by senior catcher Gage Easton.
Friday’s victory clinched a 2-1 series win for Lone Peak, a welcomed reality after starting Region 4 play at 0-3 after three consecutive losses to Pleasant Grove. The Knights will look to build upon their explosive weekend and improve their region record when they square off with Westlake for a three-game set which begins on Tuesday.
