Waunakee beats Sauk Prairie as golf season gets underway
PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. (BVM) — The Waunakee High School boys golf team beat Sauk Prairie in a head-to-head match Wednesday at Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
The Warriors came in having taken seventh at the season-opening Sheboygan North Invitational on April 23 and then third at the Madison Edgewood Invitational on Monday.
Through nine holes played, Waunakee had a combined score of 162 while the Eagles scored 199. KC Nickel and Max Brud of Waunakee led all golfers shooting just 2 over par with a score of 39 followed by Will Meganck who shot a 40.
The Warriors will now face Portage today at the Portage Country Club before competing in the Balance and Believe Invitational on May 3 at the Blackhawk Country Club.
