Williamsville South’s Dewer rushes for career day
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (BVM) — Williamsville South’s undefeated start to the spring football season has seen some setbacks, starting with a COVID-19 pause in action and ending with a lightning strike delay in its recent game against Sweet Home High School. Even with the hindrances, the Billies have stayed locked in.
No one added more intrigue to Williamsville South’s return to action more than junior Christian Dewer. The Billies’ running back racked up an unbelievable 423 all-purpose yards, while combining for four touchdowns on the day. Dewar did most of his damage on the ground, rushing 19 times for 241 yards and two touchdowns while quarterback Jonathan Clifford passed for 118 yards and combined for four touchdowns.
The effort from the star running back helped push Williamsville South to a 52-34 win over its rival on the school’s senior night. Williamsville South remained unbeaten after the win, joining South Park with its own perfect season.
The Billies will look to return to action and continue their perfect season in a matchup against Kenmore East on Saturday.
