Hunter Morgan steps up to the plate as Hopewell’s Mini-Hitters tee-ball coach

MILTON, Ga. — Coaching a tee-ball team of three and four year olds is not for the faint of heart! But after coaching softball, baseball, and lacrosse teams for his older children, Hunter Morgan stepped up to bat as head coach of the Cubs, Hopewell’s Mini Hitters tee-ball team.

For these little sluggers barely out of pull ups, it’s all about keeping them entertained, having fun on the field so they’re excited to grow with the sport, season after season.

“With this squad, everything is pretty entertaining,” says Coach Morgan. “The pile-ups that occur on the field when every kid runs for the ball are probably the best part.”

Morgan’s love for sports started as a kid in his own neighborhood where they played every kind of sport. Growing up, he played basketball and tennis.

Now, he spends most of his spare time supporting and coaching his three children with their own sports, Iris, 9, Mark, 6, and Will, 4. When he’s not coaching, Morgan and his wife Johanna enjoy the laid back vibe of their White Columns neighborhood, playing a round of golf at the club, or grabbing a bit to eat from The Union or I Love NY Pizza.

As the Cubs get ready to hit the field for their final games of the season, Morgan’s best advice, “just stay positive and encourage them when they do something well.”

With positive vibes from their coach, these Mini Hitters are already ahead in the count, and on deck to become tomorrow’s superstars!
